NEIGHBORHOOD LOTTERY
Neighborhood 3 & 4 year old applications for the lottery are now available. In the event that there are more applications than there are spaces, the Office of Academic Enhancement will hold a lottery. Please fill out an application and submit it by 3:00 on March 18th. Parents will be notified as soon as the lottery is run (no later than June 8th).

Neighborhood Kindergarten registration
Tuesday, April 6 - 5:30 - 7:00pm
Thursday, April 8 - 5:30 - 7:00pm
Registration will take place at Mayer Magnet School, 2250 N. Clifton.
Your child must be 5-years old by September 1st to be eligible for Kindergarten.
Please bring the following materials to registration:
- Child's ORIGINAL birth certificate
- Child's Social Security Number
- Proof of address - for example, YOUR utility bill and State ID or Driver's license
- Child's medical and shot records

GOLDEN APPLE WINNER!
Congratulations to Melissa Hooker our school music teacher for winning the Golden Apple Award! Ms. Hooker was selected as one of 5 CPS teachers and one of 10 teachers in the State of Illinois! This is a huge honor and we are thrilled for her! Watch for Ms. Hooker in the Tribune and the news!
SECOND STEP
Second Step is a new program that addresses the needs of the social and emotional learning objectives for our students. This is a school wide curriculum that our students are experiencing one day a week Early Childhood through 8th Grade. Please click the link below to learn more about it:
FRIENDS OF MAYER
Friends of Mayer has been working very hard raising money for our school. We are very lucky to have such a great group of parents and community members that are dedicated to helping make our school a great place.
